Doyle Everett Shasteen, 90, of Jonesboro, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2013, at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, Missouri.
Born in Rector, Doyle lived in Rivervale where he was a farmer until he moved to Nettleton in 1947. He retired from City Water and Light in Jonesboro where he worked from 1948-1985. Doyle was a long-time member of Nettleton Baptist Church where he was a member of the Men's Four Sunday school class.
Doyle was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Etta Shasteen, a daughter, Sherry Annette Day, 3 sisters: Beatrice Shasteen, Juanita Rutledge and Louise Stallings and 3 brothers: Sherman Shasteen, Jerry Wayne Shasteen and Larry Don Shasteen.
Survivors include 1 daughter, Dianna (Larry) Duffel of West Plains, Missouri;
2 grandchildren: Bryan (Sophie) Duffel of Memphis and Steven (Christy) Duffel of Willard, Missouri; and
3 great grandchildren: Morgan Duffel and Chandler Duffel, both of Memphis and Christa Duffel of Willard, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. in Nettleton Baptist Church with Dr. Stan Ballard officiating. Burial will follow in Caraway Cemetery.
Active pallbearers include Randy Statler, Barry Holt, Bryan Duffel, Steven Duffel, Mark Shasteen and Kenny Stallings. Honorary pallbearers include members of the Men's Four Sunday school class at Nettleton Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 4:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home.
