Doyle Peyton, 74, of Rolla, Missouri, died Saturday, February 4, 2017 at his home. He had lived in Rolla since 2005, moving there from Jonesboro. Doyle retired from the Jonesboro Fire Department after 22 years. He served his country for four years in the United States Air Force. He was the owner of the Jonesboro Flying club and served as flight instructor. He attended the Assembly of God Church in Jonesboro and in Rolla. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Shari Lawson; grandson, Joseph Lawson; mother, Anna Pearl (Charlie) Bragg; father, Samuel Peyton; Brother, Johnnie Bragg; and grandfather, Logan Coomer.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Kathy Gibson Peyton; daughter, Angela Rector of Cuba, Missouri; grandson, Austin Rector; granddaughter, Kimberly Lawson Schaefer; great grandson, Brantley Oliver; sister, Lorell (Ron) Scott of Babcock, Wisconsin; Carolyn (Jerry) Gray of Brookland; brother, Lenuel Bragg of Ubly Michigan; sister-in-law, Mar Sue Gibson Sherman of East Alton, Illinois and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 3:00 Saturday, February 11, 2017, at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Paul Wallis and Ray Cook officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Honorary pallbearers are Harry Wallen and retired and active firemen with the Jonesboro Fire Department. Burial will be private. Visitation will be from 1:30 until service time on Saturday. Jonesboro Fire Fighters Pipes and Drums and the JFD Honor guard will provide funeral honors.
