Douglas Alan Noell, 61, passed from this life on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro. Doug was born in Jonesboro on March, 24 1961 to Jean Noell and the late Billy Noell. In addition to his father, Doug is preceded in death by his two wives, Lisa Noell & Sara Noell; and one step-child, Jeromy Combs.
Doug grew up and spent most of his life in Jonesboro. He enlisted in the military and was proud of his time serving with US Army Reserve, where he achieved the rank of Sergeant First Class. Doug was one of the most mechanically-inclined individuals you could meet. He could take anything apart and put it back together. Doug could talk to anyone. Whether he was bartending at the VFW or hosting a fish fry, he could always find someone to talk with. He enjoyed reading about all different subjects. Doug was also quite the jokester. He loved a good prank and especially a slow-burn joke. Most importantly, Doug loved being with his family. He did anything and everything he could to better the future of his kids, step-kids, and grandkids.
Doug is survived by his mother, Jean Noell of Jonesboro; son, Jon Noell of Walnut Ridge and step-son, Jeff Combs of Hot Springs; step-daughter, Dusty Meins of Hot Springs; brother, Larry Noell (Glenda) of Leavenworth, KS; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Monday, March 6, 2023 at Emerson Funeral Home. A visitation will precede the service from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Unity Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make considerations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Disabled American Veterans charity.
