Douglas Gene James

July 30, 1950 — October 14, 2005

Douglas Gene “Doug” James, age 55, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, died Friday afternoon, October 14, 2005, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro of natural causes.

A native and life-long resident of Jonesboro, Mr. James was a retired lineman for Craighead Electric Cooperative where he worked 33 years. He was a Baptist and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

Doug attended Crowley Ridge Academy in Paragould and Jonesboro High School. He was preceded in death by his father: Edgar E. James.

Survivors include:
His wife, Patricia Noles James of the home;

2 Brothers: Virgil Grizzle of Laguna Hills, California, and
Barry Williams of Lubbock, Texas;

1 Sister: Brenda Williams of Jonesboro; and

His Mother: Maxine James of Jonesboro.

Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 5-7 at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
Funeral services and burial will be private.

Honorary pallbearers include: Shawn Cook, Aaron Dillehay, Martin Dorton, Tom Wigton, Verlyn Holmes, Kavin Davis, Myron Davis, John Brown, Dennis Sairls,
Phillip Brown, Roland Wade, Brian Songer, Lynn Cabe, Donald Combs, Phillip Gay,
Mark Loggins, Rick Holcomb, Barry Wewers, John Sturgon, and Jerry Bozarth.

For lasting memorials, the family asks that consideration be given to the American Heart Association, or to the American Diabetes Foundation.
