Beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Dortha Louise Stone passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2020 in Jonesboro, AR from complications due to Covid-19. She was 93.
Dot was born on April 1, 1927 in St. Louis, Missouri to Harry and Ruby (Etherton) Bogan. She married the love of her life, Elmer Stone on August 28, 1950. They raised their family in Blytheville, Arkansas where she attended First Baptist Church and taught 6-year-old Sunday School. During their marriage, Dortha served as bookkeeper for the family businesses, Alignment Service and Barfield Harbor Service, of Blytheville, until her retirement. She was an avid Red Cross volunteer and had a special love for animals. One of the main joys of her life was time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Dortha was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Stone; sons, Dana Stone and David Stone; her sister, Nancy (Bogan) O’Tinger; and her brother, Charles Bogan. She is survived by one daughter, Susan (Stone)Westbrook; and her six grandchildren and eight grandchildren.
No service or visitation will be held at this time due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
