Dorothy Tull

July 1, 1926 — January 18, 2009

Mrs. Dorothy Tull, 82, of Jonesboro, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2009 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in El Dorado, Kansas to Carl and Mabel Doornbos on July 1, 1926.

She grew up in El Dorado and later moved to Enid, Oklahoma, where she attended Phillips University on a music scholarship. At Phillips University she met the love of her life, Curt Tull who was attending Seminary School. She married Curt in 1948. Dorothy and Curt served several churches in Kansas, Arkansas, Texas and Oklahoma before moving to Jonesboro in 1963.

Dorothy blessed people with her beauty and her love of music. She taught piano and voice, she enjoyed gardening and calligraphy. Dorothy is survived by her son, Tom and wife Paulette of Jonesboro; daughters Nancy Tull of Sidney Maine, Judy Pendergrast and husband Tom of Panama City, Florida and son, Fred Tull of Jacksonville, Arkansas. Dorothy has six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at 10:00 A.M., at First Christian Church of Jonesboro with a private burial in Tull, Arkansas. There will be no public visitation.
