Dorothy Jean Stepp Spooner, 84, of Jonesboro, formerly of Junction City, LA passed from this life Monday, May 30, 2022 at St. Bernard’s Hospice House surrounded by her family. She was born to the late O.C. Alonzo and Virginia Wilson in Junction City on April 8, 1938. Dorothy has resided in Jonesboro after coming from Junction City, LA. She was a long time member of the Junction City First United Methodist Church.
Dorothy enjoyed gardening, spending time outdoors, and cooking, especially fried chicken. She had a ceramic shop for many years while in Jonesboro. Most of all, Dorothy loved her family.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy is preceded in death by her first husband, Ed Stepp; second husband, Charles Spooner; six brothers, one sister, and one son.
Dorothy is survived by two daughters, Melanie (Bart) Morrison of Jonesboro and LaWanda (Rob) Wiles of Scottsdale, AZ; one son, Eddie (Susie) Stepp of Junction City, LA; three brothers, Woody (Helen) Wilson of Junction City, LA, Bill (Joann) Wilson of Spearville, LA, and Richard (Beth) Wilson of Little Rock, AR; three sisters, Bobbie Ann Orr of El Dorado, AR, Julia(Freddie) Meador of Junction City, LA, and Judy Carter-Franklin of Hackett, AR; grandchildren, Joshua (Marie) Morrison, Megan (Shannon) Bailey, Seth (Jennifer) Wiles, Jordan Wiles, Tiffany (Blake) Loueallen, Bennett Stepp, and Colby Stepp; and 14 great grandchildren.
A visitation will be from 12:30 – 1:30 pm Friday, June 3, 2022 at Emerson Funeral Home.
A graveside service will follow at 2pm Friday, June 3, 2022 at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.
