Dorothy Paxton

Dorothy Paxton, 66, of Jonesboro passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at St. Bernards Medical Center. She was born on April 1, 1951 in Clarendon to the late John and Martha Stinnett.

Dorothy was blessed with one son, Roy Sims Jr whom died on February 9, 2017. Dorothy was a loving and wonderful person; she would do anything for anybody. Her favorite things to do were watching her great grandchildren and her church shows on TV.

Dorothy leaves behind two brothers, William Stinnett of Clarendon and Donald Stinnett of Brinkley; four grandson, Ira D. Smith of Harrisburg, Christopher Smith and family of Brinkley, Roy L. Sims III of Jonesboro, and Marcus Sims and family of Jonesboro; two granddaughters, Barbara Ellis and family of Jonesboro, and Ashley Lewis and family of Georgia; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service will be Friday afternoon at 2pm in the Emerson Memorial Chapel with William Stinnett officiating. Interment will directly follow at Oaklawn Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements. Pallbearers are Eric Slayton, Roy Sims III, Stacy Elliott, Christopher Smith, Wesley Ellis, Marcus Sims, and David Stinnett.

Visitation will take from 1:00pm until service time in the Emerson Memorial Chapel.
