Dorothy “Sue” Lunceford, 90, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2026, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born on October 26, 1935, in Elaine, Arkansas, to Lloyd and Mary Smith.
Sue faithfully served as the church secretary at First Baptist Church Jonesboro for 24 years before retiring in 2000. She was also a member of the church choir. Sue enjoyed shopping and traveling, but what she cherished most was spending time with her family. She will be remembered for the love she shared with those around her and the many memories she created with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin Lunceford of 38 years; her sisters, Betty Lane and Thelma Grantham; and her grandson, Stephen Evans.
Sue is survived by her two brothers, Leo Smith, Elmer (Velma) Smith, two sisters, Kay Billingsly and Debbie Graham, three daughters, Betsy (Dennis) Fox, Linda (Mike) McEachran, and Brenda Page; six grandchildren, Joanda Wilson, Felicia Fox, Brad Limpach, Chris (Whitney) Evans, Stephanie (Kurtis) Fiori, and Mitchell (Meaghan) Page; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 22, at Emerson Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., with the celebration of life service immediately following at 2:00 p.m. Jason McCall will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House or First Baptist Church – Baptist Student Union.
