Dorothy Marie Lammers, 86, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Friday, October 9, 2015 with her loving family by her side.
Dorothy was born on October 14, 1928 in Jonesboro to the late Marvin and Tennie Fetcher Dixon. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Brookland and was a homemaker all her life. Dorothy especially loved fishing, camping, shopping, sewing, and traveling with her husband Virgil. She was a very kind and loving person, and she always made a point to tell everyone that she loved them. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death, her husband of 67 years, Virgil Lammers Sr.; one brother, Marvin Dixon Jr.; one granddaughter, Teresa Beary; and one great granddaughter, MacKinzie Beary.
Dorothy is survived by two sons; Virgil T. Lammers Jr. (Mary) of New Johnsonville, Tennessee and Charles E. Lammers (Sue) of Brookland; two daughters; Sharon A. Conaway of Jonesboro, Brenda K. Sanders (Roger) of Jonesboro, and Wanda S. Wall McGaughey (Kelly) of Brookland; one brother, Orville “Tom” Dixon of Mabelvale; and eleven grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Sunday, October 11, 2015 at 3pm in the Emerson Memorial Chapel with Bro. Joe Kaiser officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Log Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements. Honored to serve as pallbearers are all of Mrs. Dorothy Lammer’s grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6-8pm Saturday night at Emerson Funeral Home.
