Dorothy Helen Gray

Dorothy Helen Gray, 97, of Jonesboro, died Wednesday afternoon at St. Elizabeth’s Place in Jonesboro where she had resided for 2 months.

Born in Monette, Mrs. Gray lived much of her life in Kansas City, Missouri before moving to Mountain Home and then to Jonesboro 6 years ago. She was a retired supervisor for Avon, Inc. in Kansas City and was a member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband: William C. Gray; by a son: W.E. “Dub” Hamilton; and by 4 brothers: J.T. Darr, Verl Darr, Floyd Darr, and Jeff Darr.

Survivors include:

1 Brother and Sister-in-law: Herman and Alene Strickland Darr of Peoria, Illinois;

Her Caregivers, Niece and Nephew: Margaret and Neil Abel of Jonesboro;

A Devoted Friend: Elizabeth Rapalee of Oahu, Hawaii;

Several Nephews and Nieces; and

A host of friends.

Graveside funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10:00 at Monette Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro in charge of arrangements.

There will be no visitation.
