Dorothy "Dot" Helen Cook

Dorothy "Dot" Helen Cook, 92, of Jonesboro, passed away peacefully November 16, 2021.  She was born October 5, 1929 in Batesville, Arkansas to the late Herbert and Lillie Williams.  She was preceded in death by her brothers, Lloyd Williams, Roscoe Williams, Herbert Williams and sisters Leah Weatherford and Ruth Hutcherson.  She is survived by her sons, John Cook (Holly), Richard Cook (Susan) and Bill Cook (Tina) also her grandchildren, Lindsay, Laura, Jonathan, Hogan, Austin, and Kyle.  The greatest joy in her life was her family.

Dorothy graduated from Batesville High School, Attended Arkansas College (Lyons College) in Batesville, Arkansas State College (ASU) – Jonesboro, ultimately completing her masters and specialist degrees.  She was an educator in Bay and Jonesboro High School for 30 years.  After retirement she served on the Jonesboro Board of Education for several years. Her beliefs on a quality education were embodied in her contributions to community and family.

Funeral services will be 2:00 Monday, November 22, 2021, at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Reverend John Miles officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.  Visitation will be from 1:00 until service time. A family burial will be private.
