Dorothy Gene Britt's Obituary

Dorothy Gene Britt, 77, passed away at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House on March 15, 2026. She was born on March 12, 1949 in Newport, Arkansas to William Lonzo and Ruby Lillian (Waters) Britt.

Dorothy was of Christian faith. She enjoyed chopping cotton with her siblings and spending time gardening. She also enjoyed watching wrestling, NASCAR, soap operas and playing bingo. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister.

Dorothy is survived by her children: her sons, Jackie Britt (Teresa), and Danny Britt (Lacherisa), and daughter, Raven Armstrong; grandchildren, Dawson Foster, Joshua Britt, Madisen Painter, Ella, Hannah, Logan, Emmy, Abby, Aaron, Kristian, Brandon, Nicholas, Cameron, Makayla, Lizzy, and Austin; great-grandchildren, Lilly “Bug”, Ben, and Claire; sisters, Marie Spencer and Hattie Wilson; brothers, Jimmy Britt and Billy Lawrence; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Christopher Britt; granddaughter, Emily; sisters, Elizabeth “Liz” Brown and Lucille “Lucy” Rusher; and brother, William Britt.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Herman Cemetery in Bono with Russell Merriman officiating. Active pallbearers include: Joshua Britt, Dawson Foster, Darren Foster, Scott Hoover, Jason Brown, and Robert Brown.
