Dorothy Holmes Beckner

Dorothy Holmes Beckner, age 77 of Jonesboro, passed from this life Saturday, February 7, 2015 at St Bernards Medical Center. She was born March 26, 1937 to Ray and Marguerite Sullivan Holmes in Memphis, TN. Dorothy lived in Florida before moving to Jonesboro 20 years ago. She was of the Baptist belief. Dorothy loved playing bingo, enjoyed the outside, reading, golf, crossword puzzles, and dancing. She was also an airline stewardess from 1955-1957.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her step-mother, Martha Holmes and 2 sisters Rita Johnson and Betty Wess.
Survivors include 1 daughter, Toni Maurizi of Trumann, AR; 2 grandchildren, Amber Maurizi and Brent and wife Paige Maurizi and 2 great grandchildren , Emery and Gracelyn.

A memorial service will be Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Emerson Memorial Chapel at 6 PM with Rick Jensen officiating.

Burial will be private under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home.
