Dorothy Ann Lawhorn

Dorothy Ann Wright Lawhorn died Thursday morning at St. Bernards Medical Center. She was born in Visalia, CA March 20, 1929. She grew up on her parents’ orange grove in Ivanhoe, CA. She attended college at Visalia J.C. UOP and Fresno State where she graduated with a BA in elementary education. She married Frank Lawhorn February 2, 1951. They resided in Visalia, CA to start Frank’s teaching career. They were currently living in Jonesboro, AR.

She was preceded in death by her father, David V. Wright and her mother, Ruth E. Wright.

She is survived by her husband, Frank L. Lawhorn; daughter, Ruth (Lawhorn) Askea, Chatanooga, TN; her 3 grandchildren, Jacob Askea, Jackson, TN, Meaghan Askea, Charleston, SC, Peter Askea, Jonesboro; and 2 great-grandchildren, Hayden and Hadley Askea.

A private service followed by a reception at St. Bernard’s Village Chapel will be held Saturday, December 15, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

The family requests that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
