Doris E. House

Doris E. House, 81, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on June 26, 2022. She has lived in Jonesboro for two years, moving here from Sheridan, Arkansas. She was born to John and Bernice Eggleston on November 8, 1940. Doris was of the Catholic belief.  She loved to cook, read and work jigsaw puzzles.  But, more importantly to her was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Much of her free time was watching Hallmark movies, old westerns and Little House on the Prairie. If Doris had a weakness, it was for sweets and chocolates.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willard House; and her brother Robert John Eggleston.

Survivors include her sons, Doug Lockhart of Harrison, Arkansas; Kevin Lockhart of Hot Springs, Arkansas; daughters, Jackie Cotton and husband, Billy Joe of Sheridan, Arkansas; Pam Dooley and husband Tom of Jonesboro; brother, Ray Eggleston and wife Linda of Brownwood, Texas; grandchildren, Clarisa, Zachary, Allison, Ben, Matthew, Chris, Tricia, Jonathan and nine great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at the Refuge Church of the Assemblies of God, 1404 Stone Street here in Jonesboro with Matt Smith officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge.  Grandchildren and great grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
