Doralea Smith

Doralea Smith, 87, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at St. Bernards Medical Center.

Doralea was born and raised in Flint, Michigan. On January 25, 1951, she married Bill Smith; and in 1953 they moved to and settled in Arkansas. She was a homemaker and worked alongside her husband as they owned and operated retail furniture stores and a Western Auto franchise store.

Doralea was committed to taking good care of her family in all that she did. She was an avid reader and enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles. She was also artistic and liked drawing. Doralea was a member of Valley View Church of Christ where she enjoyed singing. She was previously a member of Southwest Church of Christ where she managed the church nursery.

Doralea was preceded in death by her parents: Clarence and Christine McElhaney Floyd, son David Wayne Smith, sister June Hayn, half sister Pauline House and half brother Winford Floyd.

Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Bill W. Smith of the home;
2 daughters, Vickie Stanley of the home, and Christie Wallace (John) of Plano, Texas,
a daughter-in-law Lisa Smith of Lake Tahoe, California,
1 son, Perry Lynn Smith (Dawn) of Jonesboro;
1 brother, Clarence Floyd (Barbara) of Swartz Creek, Michigan;
10 grandchildren: Brian Stanley (Amy) of Jonesboro, Krista Thomas of Jonesboro, Jonathan Wallace of The Colony, Texas, Jeremy Wallace of The Colony, Texas, Austin Smith of St. Louis, Missouri, Amy Smith of Tahoe, California, Jessica Holland (Chad) of Paragould, Emily Smith of Jonesboro, Barrett Smith of Little Rock, and Morgan Smith (Sara) of Little Rock; and
15 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Valley View Church of Christ, 4500 Southwest Drive, Jonesboro, with David Gibson and Spencer Furby officiating. Visitation will precede the memorial service from 1:00-2:00 p.m..
