Donnie J. Holcomb, 74, of Jonesboro died Wednesday, December 13, 2007 at St. Bernards Medical Center. He has lived in Jonesboro for the past thirty-five years and was of the Baptist belief. He was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.
He is survived by Mae Holcomb, of the home; two sons, Darrin Boatman of Maumelle, Arkansas; David Holcomb and his wife Cindy of Batesville, Arkansas; a daughter, Denise Vershelden and her husband Michael of Springfield, Illinois; two sisters Naomi Barton, St. Louis, Missouri; Jolene Hurst, Piggott, Arkansas; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, December 15, 2007, at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Brother Kenneth Overton officiating and burial to follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers are Jeff Johnson, Robbie Walker, Larry Driver, Donny Damron, and RV Walker. Visitation will be from 5 – 7 Friday night at Emerson Funeral Home.
