Donnie Martelle Dorsey Sr.

Donnie Martelle Dorsey Sr., surrounded by his family departed this life early Friday morning March 15, 2024. Born to the late Mr. Roosevelt Dorsey Jr. and Bernice Dorsey in Wilson, AR. He graduated from Rivercrest High School of Wilson, AR. Class of 83. He entered the United States Army in 1985 to 1988 and continued his education with AIU and received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Management Administration.

He was an employee of Ipsco Tubular of Armorel, AR. He accepted Christ at the age 16 at First Baptist Church Joiner AR. under the leadership of Rev. R.L. Johnson then under the Leadership of Pastor Clifton S Taylor. He later became a member of Living Word Kingdom Church of Jonesboro, AR. under the leadership of Apostle Christopher D. Medlock until his death. Donnie was a great musician who played for the Stars of Faith of Turrell, AR. under the leadership of the late Rev. Johnnie Miller of Turrell AR. Donnie was an avid game player; and he mastered several things where coined the Nickname MasterDon. He was also a great debater of the Word and could challenge you to a duel and he would win. He dedicated 25 years his life to his beautiful wife Adelaida Dorsey of Jonesboro, AR.

He leaves to cherish his memory 10 children Ashley (Philip MacArthur) of WA, Ceairi Hunter of Jonesboro, AR, Jose, Donnie M. Jr, Ricardo, Sean, Christopher, Amariah, Latoya Graham of Memphis, Tn and Michael Graham of Nashville, Tn. and 16 grandchildren Addy, Duncan, Demarion, Aziyah, TJ, Tranaija, Alexia, Princeton, Bryson, Armoni, Kingston, Kayson, Tristan and Kristian. 3 sisters Pastor Glenda Newson and Mary (Joseph) Person of Jonesboro AR. and Rashal (Billy) Freeman of Alabama. one brother Andrew Vaughn of Chicago, IL. and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, Aunt’s and Uncle . Preceding him in death is one Brother Roosevelt Dorsey Jr., two grandchildren Jeremiah and Mason Hunter. two sisters Maria Dorsey of Joiner and Sherrie Johnson of Memphis Tn.

Friends may visit with the family Friday, March 22, 2024 starting at 1:00 p.m. at Emerson Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Cameron Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include: Donnie Dorsey Jr., Jose Dorsey, Ricardo Dorsey, Sean Dorsey, Christopher Dorsey, Adrian Mosley, and Jordan Person.
