Donna Rae (Gambill) House, born on March 15, 1956, to Thelma and Pete Gambill, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025, in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Donna enjoyed a joyful childhood on her family’s farm in Brookland, where she developed the deep-rooted values of hard work, compassion, and community that defined her life. A proud graduate of Brookland High School, she later married, Donald House, in 1977. The couple relocated to Central Arkansas, where they built a life centered around family, faith, and service.
A lifelong advocate of the 4H program, Donna dedicated herself to the organization not only as a supporter but also as a valued 4H Program Assistant. Her passion for youth development and community involvement left a lasting impact on countless young people and their families.
Donna’s greatest joy was her family. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and Aunt, she was the heart of the home and a steady source of love and care for those around her. Whether rocking babies, cheering at events, or offering quiet encouragement, she was always present, always giving. Her nurturing spirit extended far beyond her immediate family—Donna was also a cherished friend, known for her generous heart, home-cooked meals, and unwavering willingness to lend a helping hand, whether it was driving friends to appointments or simply being there when needed most.
In recent years, Donna returned to her cherished family farm in Brookland, where she found deep comfort and pride in the land that shaped her. She loved sharing stories about the farm’s rich history, eager to pass along its legacy to future generations.
Donna is now reunited in peace with her parents, her sister Jean Hicks, and many dear family members and friends who preceded her in death.
She leaves behind a loving legacy in her husband, Donald House; her sons Jeff (Laura) and Heath (Christina); her grandchildren Ceileigh (Nick), Heather, and Harper; her great-grandchildren Britton Jo and Presley-Ann; her beloved niece and nephew, Danny and Dayna; and a wide circle of extended family and lifelong friends who will carry her memory in their hearts.
Visitation will be held at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro, AR from 2-4pm on Sunday, August 10. Services will be held at Highland Drive Baptist Church in Jonesboro, AR at 1pm on Monday, August 11. Interment to follow at Pine Log Cemetery.
