Donna Rae Buchanan

Donna Elkins Buchanan, 86, of Jonesboro, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 21, 2025, at St. Bernards Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born on June 20, 1939, in East St. Louis, Illinois, to the late Herbert and Thelma Waddell. Donna was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She loved to share her love of God on Facebook, talk with her friends and share funny posts.

Donna enjoyed traveling, hosting gatherings, fishing and caring for her beloved pugs over the years. She had a generous spirit and was always willing to help those in need. Above all, Donna cherished time spent with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Elkins; second husband, Donald Buchanan; her son, Dennis Elkins; and two sisters, Judy Warnick and Peggy Waddell.

Survivors include her son, Jeremy (Courtney) Elkins of Jonesboro; three daughters, Sherry (Guy) Qualls of Jonesboro, Paula (James) Neville of Lufkin, Texas, and Crystal (Daniel) Busby of Jonesboro; two sisters, Herberta (Richard) Hartness and Pam (Mike) Fletcher, both of Jonesboro; two grandchildren, Jill Wooten and Starla (Cade) Williams, both of Jonesboro; and eight great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Bro. Richard Hartness officiating.
