Donald "Waymon" Hicks

Donald “Waymon” Hicks, 72, of Jonesboro formerly of Bay passed away Saturday, October 22, 2022 at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born July 13, 1950 in Caraway, Arkansas to the late Coy and Euna Hicks. Waymon was a member of County Line Church of Christ. He worked as a supervisor for Colson for over 10 years. Waymon served in the United States Army for 4 years and was stationed in Giessen, Germany during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on cars, watching old westerns and spending time with family.

In addition to his parents, Waymon was preceded in death by his wife, Aylene Hicks; 5 brothers, Neal, Noel, Wesley, Nels Laymon and Johnny Hicks and one sister, Alice Alsup.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Hicks; son, Chuck (Courtney) Hicks; daughter, Wendy (Jarrod) Jordan; step-son, Ken (Audrey) Luff; step-daughter, Kristen (Michael) Johnson; 2 brothers, Hurchel Hicks, Eddie (Rita) Hicks; 2 sisters, Agness (Kenneth) House, Betty (Tony) St. John and 5 grandchildren: Bailey Hicks, Alison Koons, Abby Hicks, Carson Koons, and Evan Koons.

Visitation will be held at Southwest Church of Christ on October 26, 2022 from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. with Adam Brewer officiating. Graveside Services will follow at Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector.
