Donald Gene Thompson

Donald Gene Thompson, 74, of Jonesboro passed from this life Monday, March 8, 2021 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. He was born to the late Vardaman and Cassie Thompson in Lepanto on February 13, 1947. He has lived in Jonesboro since 1986 after coming from Leachville and was of the Christian belief.

Donald was an avid hunter. He loved raising and showing hounds. Donald never met a stranger and would do anything he could to help someone, if he was eating, you were eating. Most of all Donald loved his family. He was always a jokester.

In addition to his parents, Donald is preceded in death by his four brothers, and four sisters.

Donald is survived by his son, David (Kelli) Thompson of Jonesboro; three daughters, Angela (John) Thompson Ashe, Pamela Jean Wilson, and Polly Marie Willie all of Jonesboro; brother, Daniel (Fran) Thompson of Oklahoma; three sisters, Sadie Ann Short of Pennsylvania, Addie Nadine (Darrell) Gibson of Walls, MS, and Clara Dell Davis of Blytheville; grandchildren, Kara (Kris) Kelton, Amanda (Colby) Hammon, Geneva (Bradley) Suttton, Colyn Wilson, Aaron Weaver, Jordan Willie, Genisis Young, Madison Thompson, Miranda Thompson, and Slade Melton; and great grandchildren, Elijah Hammon, Isaiah Hammon, Anna Hammon, Jeremiah Hammon, Kate Kelton, and Kaeson Weaver.

A visitation will be Thursday, March 11 from 5-7 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home.

Burial will be private.
