Donald Earl Settles

Donald Earl Settles, 87, a life-long resident of Jonesboro, passed from this life on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at St. Bernards Medical Center.  He was born in Jonesboro on December 21, 1934 to Albert and Leona Settles.  He served his country in the US Navy Air Reserves.  Don retired from ADT in 1991.  He was of the Pentecostal belief and attended Woods Chapel General Baptist Church.  He loved the outdoors and his passions included deer hunting and collecting rocks.  As a family man, Don was a devoted husband, father, grandpa, and great grandfather.  He was referred lovingly as P-Paw, grandpa, and great grandpa. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Mary Settles, of the home; son, Darell Settles and wife Bonny; daughters, Vickey Ring, all of Brookland; Jan Woodruff and husband Allen; Cathy Settles all of Jonesboro; 8 grandchildren, Dylan, Cody, Laura, Leslie, Stefanie, Magen, Michael and Justin; and 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Monday, December, 5, 2022, at Woods Chapel General Baptist Church with Rick Hathcoat officiating and Emerson Funeral in charge of arrangements.  Pallbearers are Michael Ring, Justin Ring, Allen Woodruff, Chris Busby, Mark Lipper, and Kevin Stevens.
