Donald (Red) Williams

Donald L. “Red” Williams, 75, of Bono died Thursday, November 15, 2007 at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born in Bay Village, Arkansas and had lived in Bono for the past 12 years, moving there from Jonesboro. He was a member of the Jonesboro Christian Church and was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Williams and Helen Walls; sister, Jeanette Queen; brother, Jimmy Williams; step-brother, Troy Keller; step-sister June McGaughey and Marjorie Williams.

Words can not describe this strong man’s deep love, cherished memories, and caring spirit. “Red” loved life, people, talking and sharing stories. He had an art of making people feel at ease. He was a true source of love, laughter and affection.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Roberta Williams; daughters Becky Steele and her husband Skip of Las Vegas, Nevada, formerly of Jonesboro; Cindy Vaupel and her husband Todd of Jonesboro; step-brother, Jack Keller of Jonesboro; step-sister, Alice Quick, Mississippi; Thelma Canada, Jonesboro; Carol Menne, Memphis, Tennessee; three grandchildren Hannah Steele, Aaron Vaupel, Sophia Vaupel and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday, November 19, 2007 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Steve Shepherd and Mitch Ford officiating and burial to follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers are Raymond Covey, Joey Glaub, Jonathan Beal, Lindy Alexander, John Keller, Aaron Keller, and Sam Lewis. Honorary pallbearers are the Kiwanis of Jonesboro, Jonesboro Masonic Lodge #129, American Legion Post 0021, Men of Jonesboro Christian Church, and the men of Otwell Christian Church.
