Donald Ray Pulford, 79, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at St. Bernards Medical Center.
Born in Riverside, California, Don was a 1963 graduate of Jonesboro High School and attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Don served 6 years in U.S. Army Reserves, attended Officer Candidate School and was discharged as a First Lieutenant.
Don was an entrepreneur and operated several small businesses. He enjoyed gardening and sharing the bounty of his garden with neighbors and friends. He was always studying better ways to develop compost and produce organic vegetables and fruits. Don was an avid reader and a member of First United Methodist Church of Jonesboro. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Darlean Riley Pulford and a sister, Denise Shedrick.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Betty Pulford of the home, married February 21, 1969;
1 daughter, Amy Burnett of Jonesboro; 1 son, Andy Pulford (Sachi) of Littleton, Colorado;
1 sister, Dianna Sue Davidson (Jeff) of Yukon, Oklahoma;
1 granddaughter, Olivia Dark (Christian), and1 grandson, Joshua Pulford, all of Colorado.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, September 29, at Pavilion #1 in Craighead Forest Park with Rev. John Miles presiding. Following the memorial, the family invites all to enjoy food and fellowship at the pavilion.
