Donald Bryan Light, 88, of Jonesboro passed away Sunday, October 2, 2022 at Craighead Nursing Center. He was born August 24, 1934 in Clover Bend to the late Eulen and Cora Light. Don served in the US Army and was stationed in Japan for 2 years. He retired from GE as an electrician after 37 years. Don was known for his quality woodwork and love of singing. He had a beautiful bass voice and spent several years singing with a gospel quartet. Don was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church where he was active in the choir.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Juanita Beasley and Irene Roberts.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Golvie Light of the home; son, Marty (Shannon) Light of Ft. Worth, Texas; daughter, Marsha (Eric) Isbill of Jonesboro; 1 sister, Beatrice Smith of Tuckerman and 4 grandchildren: Erika (Jacob) McKinney of Little Rock, Carter Light of Ft. Worth, Texas, Luke Light of Ft. Worth, Texas and Blake Isbill of Jonesboro.
Funeral service will be Thursday, October 6, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Courtney Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow at Pierce Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the service.
