Donald Anthony Davis, 95, of Jonesboro passed away Sunday, September 1, 2024 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. He was born February 18, 1929 in Trumann. Don was a farmer all of his life. He started farming when he was 12 and never stopped farming. Don was an Army Veteran. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Don was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Elks Lodge. Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and playing chess. Most of all he loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
Don was preceded in death by his son, Phillip Anthony “Tony” Davis; mother, Elizabeth Cox and grandfather who raised him William H. Cox.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Jean Davis of the home; sister, Sandra Dodds of Texas and 3 grandchildren: Britney (Christopher) Stocking of Jonesboro, Elizabeth (Jason) Kinder of Jonesboro, Moose Anthony Davis of New York City and 6 great grandchildren: Talon Stocking of Russellville, Brantley Stocking of Jonesboro, Briggs Stocking of Jonesboro, Jonah Kinder of Jonesboro, Lilah Kinder of Jonesboro and Jessie Kinder of Jonesboro.
Funeral service will be Friday, September 6, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Monsignor Scott Friend officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery with Knights of Columbus being active Pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 a.m. prior to the service.
