Donald Ray Bearden

Donald Ray Bearden, 63, of Jonesboro passed from this life Friday, March 11, 2022 St. Bernards Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born in Jonesboro on October 16, 1958 to the late Roy and Eva Bearden.

Donald lived in Jonesboro all of his life and was of the Christian faith. He was a long time member of the Boy Scouts of America (Eagle Scout Rank) Leadership for Cub scouts Pack #219, Boy Scout Order of Arrow Lodge #413. He was a 1978 Jonesboro High school graduate. He graduated from Arkansas State University with two degrees. He was on the 1 ^St Board of Arkansas Real Estate appraisers. Donald received two degrees -Real Estate and Insurance and Business Administration. Following graduation he worked for Mitchum, Thompson, Belon Appraisal Firm that was hired by Craighead County to reappraise the county and later went to work for Craighead County Assessor Office. While working for the assessor office Donald was appointed by Governor Clinton to represent the Arkansas International Association of Assessing Officers side of appraising for the Arkansas Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board. He held a state Certified General License. Also, held an Appraisal Manager Senior Appraiser Certification from the Arkansas Assessment Coordination Department. Ran for Craighead County Assessor. He also worked for the Arkansas Highway Department. He was youth sports coach and he never missed a Beale Street music festival.

Donald is survived by his wife Sherri Bearden of the home; sons, Donald Andrew Bearden and Christopher Michael (Bethany) Bearden both of Jonesboro; daughters, Tiffany (Jeremy) Leggett of Atlanta and Elizabeth Annette Bearden of Jonesboro; brothers, Roy Cecil (Angela) Bearden of Powell, TN; sisters, Barbara Anita Bearden of Little Rock and Donna (Danny) Parsons of Jonesboro; grandchildren Josephine Bearden, Kennedy Reynolds of Jonesboro, Chandler Leggett and Kalyn Leggett both of Atlanta, GA.

A visitation will be Tuesday, March 15, 2022 from 5-7 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home.

Burial will be private.

Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Bearden, Louis Bearden, all godfathered cousins, uncles, and kids. Mark Mattix, Scott Hill, Wayne Stoner, Mike Crump, Tommy Lynne, Andy Craft, Mike Sloan, Mike Miller, and Dr. Arnold Gillian.
