Don Barber

February 14, 1934 — December 25, 2007

Don Barber, 73, of Jonesboro, died Tuesday, December 25, 2007, at his home of natural causes.

Born in Bowman, Don lived much of his life in Jonesboro. He was a Professional Karate Instructor and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.

Don was a member of Keishin Kan All-Japan Karate Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Jonesboro Eagles Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents: Bill and Violet Baskin Barber.

Survivors include:
3 Daughters: Sharon McElroy of Tennessee,
Dianne Allvarez of Florida, and
Donna Hollis of Jonesboro;

6 Grandchildren,
3 Great Grandchildren, and

Devoted Friends: Wilma Martin, Nancy Austin and Bobby Scroggins.

Graveside funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10:00 at Pine Hill Cemetery with Bobby McDaniel and David Martin officiating, with Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro in charge of arrangements.

Honorary pallbearers include: Perry Ruesewald, Bobby Scroggins, Bobby Yarbrough, Bobby McDaniel, David Martin, Billy Martin, Wayne Dorton, Bill Mitchell,
Bill Alexander, Jim Alexander, Sonny Baskin and anyone who loved Don.

There will be no visitation.
