Dolly Ruth Brown

Dolly Ruth Brown, 82, of Jonesboro, AR died on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Crown Point, IN.

Dolly Ruth was born on May 9, 1931 in Sikeston, MO to the late George and Armintha Tyler Haws. While living in Jonesboro she worked for Arkansas State University, and was a committed member of Nettleton Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, E.D. Brown; one infant child, Carol Ann Brown; three sisters, Theresa Haws, Patty Cummins, and Betty Ward; two grandchildren, Margaret and Melissa Brown.

She is survived by a son, George Edward Brown of Crown Point, IN, and his wife Cathy Bishop Brown of Crown Point, IN formerly of Jonesboro; two brothers, George Richard Haws of Charleston, MO and Charles Haws of Killen, AL; three sisters, Mary Martin of Bertrand, MO; Frances Hutson of Bertrand, MO and Judy Whitson of Jonesboro, AR; one granddaughter, Stephani Brown of Crown Point, IN; one grandson, Jeremy Brown, his wife Sheila Brown, and three great grandchildren, Marissa, Makayla, and Myah Brown all of Medina, TN.

Funeral services will be Friday afternoon at 2pm in the Emerson Memorial Chapel with Dr. Stan Ballard officiating. Burial will follow at Bishop Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
