Dollie Jean Willcockson

Dollie Jean Willcockson, 90, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 29, 2024, at Green House Cottages of Belle Meade in Paragould. Born on August 31, 1934, in Jonesboro to the late Lonnie and Hattie Payton, Jean was a lifelong resident of the area and a devoted member of Walnut Street Baptist Church.

Jean's life was a blend of creativity, dedication, and love. She graduated as an X-ray technician from St. Bernards and later pursued her passion for art by completing studies at Arkansas State University and Holy Angels Art Academy. As a professional artist, her talent and creativity left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Jean’s love for her family was evident in everything she did, particularly her joy in cooking for loved ones on any occasion. Her family, nieces and nephews, meant the world to her, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Willburn Willcockson; three brothers, four sisters; and many nieces, nephews, and a great-nephew.

She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and other loving family members and friends who will deeply miss her presence.

All services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105) or the NEA Humane Society (6111 E Highland Dr., Jonesboro, AR 72401) in Jean’s memory.

Jean will be remembered for her kindness, artistic spirit, and unwavering love for her family.
