Dixie L. Hood

Dixie L. Hood, 66, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on Friday, June 22, 2018 at her home. She had lived in Jonesboro for over 40 years, moving here from Illinois.  Dixie was a member of the Shiloh United Methodist Church off of Highway 141.  She was a loving and caring person and devoted her life to serving her family and grandchildren.  She enjoyed being around family and friends and she enjoyed putting on a feast for special occasions.  She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.

Survivors include her husband of 42 years, David Wayne Hood Sr., of the home; sons, Kevin Holderfield (Lisa) of Jonesboro; David Hood Jr., (Lisa) of Lake City; Bondie Hood of Texarkana, Texas; daughters, Annessa Armour (Brad) of Sheridan, Illinois; Sheila Higgins; Sarah Hood, both of Jonesboro; brothers, Brad Espeland (Alexis) of Clinton, Indiana; Jack Espeland (Sue) of Sheridan, Illinois; sisters, Carla Keener (Tony) of McMinnville, Tennessee; Betty Parkins (Rich) of Sheridan, Illinois and 16 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 5:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at the Shiloh United Methodist Church in Jonesboro with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.  Visitation will be from 4-5 P.M., at the church.  Burial will be private.
