Dexter M. Collins

Dexter M. Collins, 68, of Jonesboro entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at St. Bernards Medical Center.

Dexter was born on January 1, 1944 in Dyess to the late Charles and Agnes Burbank Collins. He was retired Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force. While in the Air Force he was stationed in, England, two times in Saudi Arabia, Alaska, and Blytheville. He worked for the City of Jonesboro for 25 years as an E-911 Dispatcher. He was a faithful member of the Valley View Church of Christ. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was an outgoing, humble, sincere person, and will be missed by his family and church.

He is survived by a loving wife, Sue Collins of the home; three daughters, Aven (Clint) Sutton of Paris, TN, Shella Collins (Troy) of Brick, NJ, and Jonna (Doug) Davis of McCrory; two brothers, Joel (Jeanette) Collins of Yazoo, MS, and John Collins of Searcy; three sisters, Sandra (Frank) of Livonia, MI, Carol (Charles) Pipes of Bono, and Judy (Ceil) Goad of Camden; fifteen grandchildren, Tyler Withrow, Brittany and Melanie Rowlett, Jameson Winston, Alyson Schaffer, Andrea Derby, Hayley, Jordan, Mya and Alicia Fredricks, Tanner, Bryce, and Brody Davis, Unity and Micah Sutton, one great grandson, Mason Robertson; and a host of family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday in the Emerson Memorial Chapel with Michael Meredith officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Visitation was held Friday evening from 5-7 at Emerson Funeral Home.

Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Ceil Goad, Tyler Withrow, Jameson Winston, Stephen Goad, Clint Sutton, Micah Knight.
