Dewaine Gerald Malone

Dewaine Gerald Malone, 76, of Lake City left this life on Friday, January 26, 2024 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.

He was born to the late Harvey and Wanda Malone on February 12, 1947 in Lake City, Arkansas.

Wayne retired from Arkansas State Police after over 26 years of service and the Craighead County Sheriff Office as an Eastern District Officer for 10 years. He loved his family, friends, and communities with all his heart. He loved to hunt, fish, joking, and playing checkers with Madison.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Geneiva Carroll Malone; daughter, Michelle R. Malone Throesch (Mathew); granddaughter, Madison Throesch, his sister, Darla Malone and his brother, John Alton Malone (Brenda), and his dog Butch.

He was proceeded in death by his grandparents, Floyd and Iris Harrison; his parents Harvey and Wanda Malone; brother, Russell Malone; sister, Diane McClung; nephew, Michael Sharp; niece, Vickie Blagg, and cousin, Robert (Junior Red) Malone.

The family wants to express profound gratitude to the Emergency Department, 4th floor staff, Inpatient Rehab, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital, the staff at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House and Elite Home Health.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 31, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel.

Funeral service will be Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. In Emerson Memorial Chapel with Greg Delancey officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery with active pallbearers being Mathew Throesch, David Guy, Chris Kelems, Ryan Kelems, Jacob Kelems and Doug Smith.

Honorary pallbearers are Arkansas State Police Troop C and the Craighead County Sheriffs office.
