Devona Ruth Turman Brown, 70, of Jonesboro, departed this life Thursday, July 20, 2017, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.
Devona was born in Jonesboro October 11, 1946, and lived most of her life in Jonesboro. She was a loving and caring person and enjoyed fishing and playing Bingo. She also enjoyed raising house plants and working in her flower garden as well as bird watching and feeding, and caring for animals. Devona was a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
Devona supported St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital and the Greene County Animal Farm. She was preceded in death by her parents: M.L. and Imogene Turman; her step father, Leon Jacquess; a sister, Deloris White; and her dog Haley, that she loved very much.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Bill W. Brown of the home;
1 son and daughter-in-law: Chad and Cindy Brown of Jonesboro;
1 sister, Margaret Drumwright of Blytheville;
3 brothers: Burl and Steve Turman of Jonesboro, and Gerald Jacquess of Ripley, Tennessee;
1 granddaughter, Cassie Rowland of Jonesboro;
1 great grandson, Jaylon Rowland of Jonesboro;
a sister-in-law, Janice Bolton of Trumann; and
a brother-in-law, M.D. White of Jonesboro.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday. July 22, 2017, at Emerson Funeral Home. A private graveside committal service will be in Philadelphia Cemetery.
