Derek Robert Pursifull

Derek Robert Pursifull, 21, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. Derek was born in Jonesboro on April 8, 1995, where he had lived most of his life. He attended Jonesboro and Pocahontas High Schools. Derek was fascinated with weather, and was a Trained Storm Spotter for the National Weather Service. He had also taken classes to become an X-Ray Technician.

Derek is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Robert Pursifull, paternal great grandparents Torgie and Irene Haroldson, paternal great grandfather Jess Brown, maternal great grandparents Robert and Janet Taylor, maternal great grandfather, James Wright, and cousin Colton Hart.

Derek is survived by his parents, Randy and Edie Pursifull of Jonesboro, and Angela and Ty Latiolais of Troy, MO, his brother Jack Latiolais of Troy, MO, his sisters Bethany Pursifull of Jonesboro, Kayley Williams of Troy, MO, and Danielle Tabor of Poplar Bluff, MO. He is also survived by his paternal grandmother, Brenda Pursifull of Pocahontas, maternal grandparents Janice and Doug Morrow of Hermitage, TN, Rick and Lola Taylor of Paragould, and Joyce Fiske of Poplar Bluff, MO, paternal great grandmother, Patsy Brown of Pocahontas and maternal great grandmother, Doris Wright of Sedona, AZ., and a nephew J.J. Tabor of Jonesboro. He alsoleaves behind his aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that loved Derek dearly.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Greg Smith officiating. Burial will be in Pine Log Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Monday in Emerson Memorial Chapel.

Active pallbearers will be Jeremy Wattigney, Buddy Williams, Clint Junkersfeld, Tim Brown, Gary Brown and Don Burgess.
