Dennis George Reid, 77, of Weiner, Arkansas, passed away on January 15, 2024, at Craighead Nursing Center. He was born to the late George and Dorothy Reid on February 3, 1946, in Weiner, AR, where he resided his entire life.
Dennis led a life filled with love for his family. He enjoyed hunting, playing golf, watching sports, and just being outside. He took joy in watching his grandchildren participate in sports.
A dedicated U.S. Air Force veteran, Dennis served his country during the Vietnam War. His role as an Air Policeman, training dogs, showcased his commitment to duty and his love for animals.
Dennis was preceded in death by his brother, Tony Reid, sister, Darla Reid, and brother-in-law, Cotton McBryde. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Shelia Reid, at their home in Weiner. His legacy lives on through his three daughters: Kimberly (Aaron Jones) Beal, Ashley (Todd) Dobson, and Tara (Mike) Kinard, all of Jonesboro.
He is also survived by three brothers: David (Lanah) Reid, Terry (Alice) Reid, and Roger Reid; sisters, Barbara McBryde, Beth (Roger) Gebhart, and sister-in-law, Jenny Reid. Dennis leaves behind a cherished legacy through his grandchildren: Lee (Jacquelynn) Beal, Jesse Kinard, Luke Kinard, Ella Dobson, Owen Dobson, and Aubrey Kate Dobson, as well as a great-grandchild, Jonny Beal. He will be remembered by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation from 1-2 pm on Friday, January 19, 2024, at Emerson Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2 pm, with Bro. Don Martin officiating. Burial will be private. Active pallbearers include Mike Kinard, Todd Dobson, Aaron Jones, Lee Beal, Jesse Kinard, Luke Kinard, and Owen Dobson.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests lasting memorials in Dennis's honor be made through donations to the Waldenburg Cemetery: P.O. Box 80 Waldenburg, Arkansas 72475.
