Dennis P. Long

Dennis P. Long, 71, of Jonesboro passed from this life on November 2, 2018, at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. Dennis was born in Chicago, Illinois on March 7, 1947, to the late Wilburn and Virginia Rock Long. Dennis lived in Jonesboro most of his life, was a retired construction worker and most recently worked for Tolbert Cabinet Shop and was of the Catholic belief. He was a 1965 graduate of Jonesboro High School, a member of the moose lodge #1729 and the VFW Auxiliary #1991. Dennis was an avid NASCAR fan and Sunday afternoons he could be found cheering on his favorite driver with his friends.

In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Long Mode.

He leaves behind his wife, Mary Williams Long of the home.

Son, Barry Hesse (Krissi) of Jonesboro.

Brother, Pat Long (Diana) of Jonesboro.

Granddaughter, Hannah Heese

His baby dog, Bear.

Special great-great nephews, TJ and Andrew Venable and their mother, Tarah.

Brothers in law, Joe Williams (Joanie)  and Gary Mode.

A host of friends and relatives.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at Emerson Funeral Home.

A private graveside service will be held on Wednesday at the Bowman Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.
