Denise Ladd Bounds, 54, of Jonesboro, died Wednesday November 10, at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House. Born in Hayti, Missouri, she had lived in Jonesboro for 21 years moving here from Marmaduke. She was a member of the Stone Street Church of Christ and was the Computer Lab Manager for the International Studies Magnet School in Jonesboro. She was the Trading Post Manager for Camp Rockefeller in Damascus. She was Camp Mom, lovingly referred to as “Momma D” to over 4000 Boy Scouts through the years.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Allan Bounds; her son, Cody Bounds, both of the home; her parents, Iris & Gene Ladd of Jonesboro; and her brothers, Fred Ladd of Conway; and Phillip Ladd of Jonesboro.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Dick Blackford officiating. Burial will follow at Harvey’s Chapel Cemetery in Marmaduke.
Active pallbearers will be Derek Ladd, Taylor Ladd, Daniel Ladd, Arthur Jackson, Dennis Elkins, Terry Sharp, T.J. Jones and Kim McDaniel.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Boy Scouts and Staff who attended Camp; J & T Dive Shop Staff; and the Faculty and Staff of International Studies Magnet School.
Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
