Denetrice Smith

Denetrice “D” Smith, 50, of Jonesboro, died Wednesday morning at her home in Jonesboro.

Born in Melrose Park, Illinois, “D” lived most of her life in Jonesboro. She was a Licensed Social Worker and a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked several years for the State of Arkansas.

She was a 1975 graduate of Brookland High School, and a graduate of Arkansas State University. She was a member of Highland Drive Christian Church, and was preceded in death by the love of her life, her son Xander Smith. She was also preceded in death by her grandparents: Alex and Rosie Brecheen, A.D. Smith, and Grace Easley.

Survivors include:

Her parents: Bob and Wilma Smith of Jonesboro;

1 brother: Gil Smith of Effingham, Illinois; and

Her paternal grandmother: Margaret Smith of Wichita, Kansas.

Funeral services will be held Thursday evening, June 28, 2007, at 7:00 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Brad Clark officiating. Burial will be private.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening, 5-7, prior to the service at Emerson Memorial Chapel.
