Jonesboro AR- Deloris (Griggs) Wright, 94, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 24, 2017 at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House. Wife, mother, sister and ‘Aunt Dee’, she was born December 7, 1922 in Romance, AR. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl Wright, an infant son Larry, by her parents – Robert and Stella Griggs, sisters Marvella Adams, Grace Bast, Bella Williams, brothers Rayburn Griggs and Robert Griggs, Jr.
Surviving are her daughter Patricia Stanphill (Dearl) of Capistrano Beach, California, son Barry Wright (Cheryl) of Jonesboro, grandchildren Dean Stanphill (Margaret) of Reno, Nevada, Kim Stanphill of Burbank, California, Corey Wright (Elissa) of Worcester, Massachusetts, great-grandchildren, Ben Stanphill (Shelley) of Santa Ana, California, Whitney Stanphill of Aliso Viejo, California and Clark Stanphill (Christine) of Woodland Hills, California and great-great-grandchildren Christopher and Zachary Stanphill (Ben).

Her family sincerely thanks those who were caregivers at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House who kept Mom so comfortable in her last days. Also, the wonderful people at St. Bernard’s Village, a place she has called home for the last several years where she loved to attend church, Bible Study and play Bingo. They have all been a blessing to our mother and to our family.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time on Saturday, July 29, in Emerson Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 11a.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Jerry Parker officiating. Burial will be at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Bernard’s Village 1606 Heern Drive Jonesboro, Arkansas 72401 or the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House 1138 E. Matthews Jonesboro, Ar. 72401 (or your favorite charity).
