Delda Mae Lane

Delda Mae Lane, 77, passed from this life on Monday, June 3, 2024, at St. Bernards Medical Center. Born on November 6, 1946, in St. Paul, Arkansas, to the late Oravel and Delpha Shipp, Delda spent the last 24 years of her life in Jonesboro, having previously resided in Alma, Arkansas.

A devoted member of the Nettleton Church of Christ, Delda found joy in spending quality time with her family, especially her cherished grandchildren. She loved reading the Bible and vacationing, whether at the river camping or at the beach. Spending time with her family brought her great solace and contentment.  She also loved spending time with her church family, studying her bible and attending ladies classes and luncheons.

Delda was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters, Bethnia Jones, Gracine Thompson, Maxine Shipp, and Pansy Shipp. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for her husband of 24 years, Jimmy Lane; her son, David (Jamie) Laferney of Bono; her daughter, Carla (Micheal) Yocum of Bella Vista, Arkansas; her brother, JC Shipp of Van Buren, Arkansas; her sisters, Judy (Billy) Geopfert and Maggie Deaton, both of Alma, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Destany Ellis, Haley Woods, Alexis Sockey, Adrianna Sockey, Gunner Phillips, and Ace Phillips; three great-grandchildren, Candace, Mia, and Abella; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024, from 2-3 pm at the Nettleton Church of Christ, followed by a memorial service at 3 pm, officiated by James Johnston and Jimmy Young. Burial arrangements will be private.

Delda's life was a testament to the power of faith, family, and finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her memory will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
