Debra Miller Sharp, 57, of Jonesboro, passed from her earthly life April 1, 2023 at St. Bernards Medical Center. She was born December 26, 1965 in St. Louis to Alvin and Betty Miller, and lived there until 1972 when her family returned to the family farm at Light.
Debra attended Stanford school and was a member of Stanford Baptist Church. Always a servant, Debra was involved in all things Stanford High, serving as her class treasurer. Debra was a Resource Specialist for the AR Department of Children and Family services. Throughout her 32 years, Debra brought together over 300 families, many of whom still call her friend today.
Debra graduated Stanford in 1984, married Don Sharp June 25, 1988, and had her children Dylan (Anne Marie) and Dara Beth (Mitch Hardy.)
Debra has many accomplishments over her life, but her favorite role was Dede to Philip, her grandson, and the most beautiful baby in the world.
Debra served many positions over her years, including the AR Foster Parent Coalition of Craighead County, The Board of Directors of the Foundation of Arts, Shop with a Cop, and started the Foster Parents Conference of NEA.
She never hesitated to call a friend when ANY child was in need.
In addition to her husband, children, and grandson, Debra is survived by her mother Betty; brother Charles (Becky); nephews Sam & Andrew; and niece Shayla.
She was preceded in death by her father Alvin.
Pallbearers: Matt Williams, David Schratz, Aaron Baker, Luke Hiser, Ethan Hiser, and Corbit Hiser.
Honorary Pallbearers include the Green Cell work team at Hytrol; Jay Callahan, Sandy Deimund, Stacey Schratz; Sam, Tammie, & Carleigh Hiser; and Katrina & Everlee Baker.
In lieu of flowers, an account has been set up at First National Bank. All funds will go to the Debra Sharp Childrens Christmas Fund.
Debra loved turquoise. The family would be honored if you would join them in wearing turquoise.
