Debra "Debbie" Kay Hockett

October 15, 1957 — June 20, 2025

Surrounded by her family, Debra "Debbie" Kay (Webb) Hockett passed away on Friday, June 20, 2025 at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas at the age of 67. Debbie was born October 15, 1957 in Williamsport Indiana to Dan Eugene Webb and Martha Louella Webb.

Debbie spent most of her young adult life in management and the restaurant business before becoming a homemaker in the mid 90's. In 2007, she began her dream job of being a Grandma with the birth of her first grandson. She was his daily caregiver, servant, and pre-k teacher until he started Kindergarten. Her full time job then became part time as she would wait all day just to be in the car line 2 hours early to make sure he was the first to be picked up each day. In 2013, her 2nd grandson was born allowing for her to once again serve in a full time capacity catering to his every need until he started school. She would then anxiously await school breaks to share her days and a glass bottle coke with her favorite boys. There was nothing that brought her greater joy, pride, and love than creating memories and spending time with her grandsons. It is safe to say that the past 18 years of being Grandma was some of the greatest years of her life.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Curtis "Curt" Hockett of the home; daughter, Danna Johnson and son-in-law, Shawn Johnson of Jonesboro, daughter, Britany Hockett of Jonesboro; her beloved grandsons, Houston Johnson and Liam Hockett; sisters, Martha (Dale) Armstrong and Kathy (Tony) Tidwell; brothers Danny (Lisa) Webb and Maury (Rose) Webb. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her infant son, Aaron Curtis Hockett; and her parents, Dan and Martha Webb.

A graveside service will be held at Indian Creek Hill Cemetery in New Market, Indiana at a later date.
