Deborah Yuvonne "MaMal" Smithee, 64, of Jonesboro, passed away on Thursday at her home following a brief illness.
Born in Mammoth Spring, Deborah lived much of her life in Monette before moving to Jonesboro in 2018. She worked several years as manager of the Vineyard Store east of Monette before becoming disabled. Deborah was of the Pentecostal faith and enjoyed taking care of her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed watching television, St. Louis Cardinal Baseball and traveling to visit family.
Deborah was preceded in death by her parents: Lawrence and Elizabeth Honeycutt Rutledge, two sisters: Alma Schoolfield and Teletha Weiland and two brothers: Gilbert Rutledge, Dennis Rutledge and Rickey Whitlow.
Survivors include her husband, Rickey Smithee of the home;
2 sons: Larry Jones (Amanda) of Ozark Acres and Joshua Smithee (Amy) of Salem;
3 daughters: Elizabeth Pickard (Doug) of Leachville, Jessica Smithee (Darius Johnston) of Jonesboro and Latisha Smithee of Salem;
2 brothers: Les Rutledge (Myra) and Jerry Rutledge all of Couch, Missouri;
3 sisters: Mary Owens of Tulsa, Rosetta Helt of Mountain Home, and Margaret Grable of Williford;
12 grandchildren and
13 great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. on Saturday at Emerson Memorial Chapel.
Emerson Funeral Home will adhere to the Executive Orders of the State of Arkansas limiting the number of persons to 10 at any one time in the Chapel.
Memorial Services will be private.
