Deborah Spears Austin

Deborah Spears Austin, 47, of Jonesboro died Sunday May 6, 2007 at the Baptist Hospital in North Little Rock.

She was born in Jonesboro and was a lifetime resident of Jonesboro. She was a former secretary in the medical field, and was a member of the Harmony Baptist Church in Jonesboro.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Spears Sr. and Elfie King Spears.

She is survived by her husband Kelly Austin of the home.

Two brothers; Larry and Louis Spears Jr. both of Jonesboro.

Two sisters; Geraldine Gibbs and Brenda Hillyer both of Jonesboro.

Several nieces and nephews and her beloved cats, Lulu and Tink.

Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday May 10, 2007 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jim Hillyer officiating. Burial will be in the Nettleton Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be Wednesday evening May 9, 2007 from 6 – 8:00 P.M. at the Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro.

Active pallbearers will be Danny Whitmire, Brian Gibbs, Brian Gibbs II, Austin Lawhon, Chad Spears and Jeremy Spears.

Honorary pallbearers will be Nathan Spears, Ray Gibbs, Dean Gibson, Marty McGinnis, Jeff Brecklein, Jim Brecklein, Chris Whitmire, Gary Lawhon, Mark Wakeham and Jim Hillyer.

Family request that lasting memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 1132, Fairfax, VA. 22038-1132 or to the NEA Humane Society.
