Debbie Gamblin Tuseth, 63, of Jonesboro, passed away Saturday, April 14. She was a beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend.
Debbie was born September 12, 1948, in Brownwood, Texas and moved to Jonesboro in 1959. She was a 1966 honor graduate of Nettleton High School. She graduated Arkansas State University in 1970 with a Bachelors degree in Journalism, and attended graduate school at Ole Miss University in Oxford, MS. She lived in Milwaukee, WI, Memphis, TN and Omaha, NE before returning to Jonesboro in 2009. She was of the Unitarian Univeralist faith.
Debbie worked for over 25 years in the educational publishing industry. For the last 15 years, she was self-employed as a writer, editor, and project manager for national textbook companies. She was previously employed as Executive Editor at Rainbow Educational Concepts in Jonesboro and had been Editor of Florafax, a nationally published florist magazine based in Leachville.
She was an avid reader of fiction (especially fond of Harry Potter); enjoyed cooking, photography, needlework and going to movies. She loved animals, gardening, and spending time at the beach. Most of all, she treasured time with her family and cherished her role as "D.D." to her 4-year-old granddaughter, Bella. Debbie was known for her cheerful and positive outlook and was always smiling.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Mike Tuseth; daughter, Jeni Tuseth of Jonesboro; sons, Eric Tuseth of Little Rock, and Jeff Tuseth of Jonesboro; granddaughter, Bella Tuseth of Jonesboro; brothers, Jay Gamblin and his wife Karen, and Joe Gamblin and his wife Karen all of Jonesboro; sister-in-laws, Susie Tuseth of Memphis and Sherry Tuseth of Jonesboro; nieces and nephews, Jayme Henderson, Mandy McQuay, and Sophie Jackson of Jonesboro; Annie Pitcher, Nikki Kemp, and Kaleb Pitcher of Paragould, and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Curt and Dee Gamblin of Jonesboro.
