Dean Russell

Dean Russell, 83, of Jonesboro passed away Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the Craighead Nursing Center. She was born January 25, 1936 in Etowah to the late Herman and Ina Curtwright. Dean was of the Baptist Belief. She enjoyed traveling with her friends, especially Mary Coleman. Dean also enjoyed flowers, mostly roses, fishing and word search puzzles. Most of all though she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Dean was preceded in death by her husband, Dave Russell; 2 brothers, Pat and Bill Curtwright; sister, Polly Brasfield; grandson Matt Middleton and 1 great-great grandchild, Baby DeShona Locken.

Survivors include her 2 daughters, Shirley (Scott) Hill of Jonesboro, Lynn (Richard) Long of Jonesboro; son, Ronnie (Kathy) Webb of Magnolia, Texas; 13 grandchildren: Kit Bynum, Cody Hill, Lora (Joe) Gillis all of Jonesboro, Sasha (Carl) Gray, Jeremy (Mary) Webb both of El Paso, Texas, Brittany (Justin) Collins of Jonesboro, Krista (Jay) Carlin of Magnolia, Shane (Jennifer) Horvatin of Morris, Michigan, David (Jennifer) Holt, Brandon (Ashley) Holt, Richie (Judy) Long, Tanja (Jonathan) Mead, Sanja (Wes) Craft all of Jonesboro; 31 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wants to give a special thanks to all those who cared for Dean.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Bro. Spencer Furby officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with active pallbearers being David Holt, Brandon Holt, Richie Long, Joe Gillis, Jonathan Mead and Dan Curtwright. The Craighead Nursing Center staff will be Honorary Pallbearers.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home.
