Dealva Faye "Dee" Gamblin

Dealva Faye Gamblin (Dee), 83, of Jonesboro, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2009 in Jonesboro. She was the wife of the late Curtis Gamblin and beloved mother of 3 children. She was lovingly called “Grandee” by her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Dee was born in Zephyr, Texas, on September 13, 1925. She was the daughter of the late Roy Johnston Locke and Zummer Pearl Murphree. She attended Howard Payne College in Brownwood, Texas.

In 1947, Dee married Curtis C. Gamblin of Cisco, Texas. They lived in Victoria, Texas, from 1950-1954 where they began Gamblin & Gamblin House Moving Company. In 1954, the Gamblin family and Gamblin House Moving moved to Newport, Arkansas. In 1959, they moved to Jonesboro.
Dee was a member of the Nettleton Baptist Church and the Fidelis 2 Sunday School group. She loved crafts and making gifts for grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Dee was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her sister Louise Locke and her brothers, Harold Locke and Herman Locke. She is survived by one brother Arvel Locke of Grass Valley, California; her daughter Deborah G. Tuseth and her husband Michael, of Omaha, NE; her sons, Jay C. Gamblin and his wife Karen, of Jonesboro, and Joe D. Gamblin, and his wife, Karen, of Jonesboro; her grandchildren Jen and Jeff Tuseth of Omaha, and Eric Tuseth of Memphis; Jayme Henderson and her husband Shaun of Jonesboro; Mandy McQuay and her husband Matt of Jonesboro; Annie and Kaleb Pitcher, and Nikki Daniels, all of Paragould; her great-grandchildren Makala and Ashlee Henderson of Jonesboro; Bella Tuseth of Omaha; Raelee McQuay of Jonesboro; Anthony Pitcher, Connor and Alex Upchurch, Michael, Samantha, and Gregory Daniels, and Kacie and Gracie Pitcher, all of Paragould.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10:00 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Harold Ray officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will Greg Daniels, Shaun Henderson, Matt McQuay, Kaleb Pitcher, Eric Tuseth, and Jeff Tuseth.

Visitation will be held Friday evening, 5-7, at Emerson Funeral Home.
